art of: IL PISTRICE
Francesca was born in Rome.
She loves to test different styles and new artistic techniques. She took a degree in history
of Art in Rome and a Graphic Design BTS in Paris. She published 5 children books and was
selected for several illustration contests. She exibithed his work in many expositions in
Italy and France and she works freelance as illustrator and graphic designer.
Her favourite animal is The PISTRICE, a legendary sea monster.
Artistic representations of the Pistrice appear in different times in history,
from the ancient Greece to the geographic maps of the Renaissance. In the western culture
the Pistrice is a monster of the ocean and it represents the idea of the fear of unknown
that sailors felt during their adventuros journeys accros the unexplored world.
